The present project of Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry with title "EDEN STRANDJA: Economic Development of Strandja - Yildiz through support for Environmental agribusiness and for Nature conservation" has main objective to support sustainable development of the region Strandja-Yildiz through establishment of a cross-border pilot model for economic impact for conservation and preservation of the environment and natural resources on the territory of Boliarovo Municipality, Yambol District, Bulgaria and Kirklareli District, Turkey, by participation in network of municipalities and local communities related to the economic development of the cross-border region of Bulgaria and Turkey.
The "Eden - the paradise garden" means natural, peaceful and harmonic life and the proposed action will work for achieving of this meaning in the region of Strandja-Yildiz.
The proposed action sets specific objectives directed towards increasing of competitiveness through support for growth combined with respect and preservation of the natural resources and this corresponds to the specific objectives of the programme.
The activities foreseen in the project will promote tools and techniques for sustainable use of the natural resources by providing material conditions for development of biological agriculture.
The project objectives, activities and outcomes planned are directed towards support for development of environmental agriculture and farming through co-operation between the neighbouring regions of Boliarovo and Kirklareli and providing of a pilot model for economic growth combined with environmental protection which corresponds to the priority fields of the programme.
The proposed action foresees activities as small scale investment measures aimed at improving infrastructure for pasture management, preservation/restoration of indigenous gene fond, awareness-raising and training activities for the agricultural producers on issues of environmental agriculture and farming as well as tools and services for informing and consulting them.
The project is directed towards following target groups: agricultural producers and other business people related to agriculture from the regions of Yambol, Boliarovo - Bulgaria, and Kirklareli region - Turkey; experts and representatives of the local authorities; specialists - agronomists, zoo-engineers and veterinary specialists; experts working in institutions related to the agricultural production and its development.
These objectives will be achieved through targeted activities summarized in following directions:
" Informational campaign for the project objectives and opportunities
" Study and analysis of the actual state of the development of the agribusiness in the cross-border region Strandja - Yildiz and for the opportunities for its perspectives for development.
" Building of start pilot material base for development of environmental, nature-friendly biological farming, for regeneration of the natural resources and conditions for hunting tourism without threatening the ecological balance in the region of Strandja-Yildiz, Boliarovo Municipality, including plant nursery, pilot pasture and providing of birds for hunting (pheasants, partridges, quails) and building of bird-coops for their breeding.
" Awareness raising and training public events as international conference, match-making meetings, visit to Kirklareli, training on environmental farming
" Instruments and tools for consulting and informing: multi-lingual virtual Internet platform, Brochure, Bureau for informing and consulting in biological agribusiness with two desks - in Boliarovo and in Yambol.
