I. ACTIVITIES GROUP I: INFORMATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES AND OPPORTUNITIES

- Multi-media and multi-lingual product for presentation and promotion of the project achievements in Boliarovo Municipality in cross-border region

II. STUDY AND ANALYSIS: Questioning-informative study and analysis of the actual state of the development of the agribusiness in the cross-border region Strandja - Yildiz and for the opportunities for its perspectives for development.
Through this activity the project provides opportunity using the means and tools of the sociology to be studied and analysed the actual state of the development of the agribusiness and more particularly - the environmental agribusiness, in the cross-border region Strandja - Yildiz, for the used and unused before opportunities and resources of neighbouring regions gives and for the opportunities for its perspective improvement and development, related to the improvement of the well-being of the population living there.
The study includes following components:

• Preparation of methods for organising of the study and printing of questionnaire card for its conducting;
  
• Questioning of 300 persons - entrepreneurs, experts, representatives of institutions, from the target group -150 from Yambol region, Bulgaria, and 150 from Kirklareli, Turkey;
  
• Computer processing of the results of the questioning, analyses of the state and opportunities for development of the cross-border cooperation and economic development of the region;
  
• Conclusions will be derived and will be directed as recommendations towards the local and national authorities in both countries and towards the business support organisations.
  

III. BUILDING OF START PILOT MATERIAL BASE FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL, NATURE-FRIENDLY BIOLOGICAL FARMING AND HUNTING TOURISM IN THE REGION OF STRANDJA-YILDIZ, BOLIAROVO MUNICIPALITY:

3.1. Building and functioning of plant nursery for suitable fruit, technical and tree species suitable for environmental and biologic agro-production on municipal land with the necessary sizes provided by the project partner Municipality of Boliarovo.
This activity foresees building and functioning of plant nursery for suitable fruit, technical and tree species, including such through restoration of indigenous gene fond, suitable for environmental and biologic agro-production as well as for forests regeneration. The nursery has total area of 10 200 m2 and is built on the territory of town of Municipality, on the entrance of the town from Yambol.
The area has been fenced; the soil was prepared and fed and was provided water supply. The necessary equipment for functioning of the nursery is provided - small tractor with necessary farm equipment; shed to be used by the workers of the nursery and for storage purposes; the necessary tools and instruments for gardening.
More than 1000 plants are planted - almond-trees, hazelnut-shrubs, walnut-trees, poplar, acacia as well as 3000 berries and raspberries, blackberries, strawberries.

3.2. Building and management of pilot pasture for cattle and small farm animals through applying of environmental and nature-friendly practices suitable for and presuming production of environmental clean and biological products on the territory of Boliarovo Municipality, village Stefan Karadjovo
It is built pilot pasture for cattle and small farm animals using environmental and nature-friendly practices on land - municipal ownership, on the territory of Boliarovo Municipality, village Stefan Karadjovo with total area of 126 decares.
The necessary operation for its building and functioning are executed:

• Fencing of the site of the pasture;
  
• Preparation of the land of the pasture cleaning from shrubs and rubbishes;
  
• Cutting of the weeds - several time during the year;
  
• Building of shed for the animals
  

3.3. Building and management of bird-coops (volieres) for further breeding of small birds and providing of small birds (pheasants, partridges, quails) to be settled
One of the projects' particular objectives is to preserve threatened by hunting races in the protected areas - pheasants, partridges, quails, through settling of birds thus providing of opportunity for development of environmental economic activities - for example, for hunting tourism - without threatening of the ecological balance.
For achieving of this aim were built 3 bird-coops (volliers) further breeding of small birds on the territory of Boliarovo Municipality - Hunting hut of the Bulgarian Hunting-Fishing Union. In series were supplied small birds from the most threatened races: 300 pheasants "Kolhidski", 300 partridges, 300 quails.
In support of this initiative of Yambol CCI the Central Council of Bulgarian Hunting-Fishing Union provided additionally the same amounts of birds and this way the forests of Strandja mountain will be settled with 1800 birds. This way opportunity for development of hunting tourism is provided without threatening of these three bird types.

IV. AWARENESS-RAISING AND TRAINING PUBLIC EVENTS

4.1. International conference "European aspects of the development of environmental and biological agribusiness in the cross-border region Strandja - Yildiz"
In the framework of the project a cross-border international conference was held on 6 and 7 June 2008 in town of Boliarovo under title "European aspects of the development of environmental and biological agribusiness in the cross-border region Strandja - Yildiz".
More than 80 persons from Bulgaria and Turkey participated in the conference - representatives of agri-business, experts and professionals in the field of agriculture, representatives of local and regional authorities.
Themes of the conference:
- Social-economic review of the development of Bulgaria and Strandja region and of Turkey - Yildiz region in the aspect of cross-border cooperation and European integration;
- NATURA 2000 - the European Ecological Network - principles, sites, funding;
- Initiatives of the EU related to sustainable regional development and rural development for the period 2007-2013;
- Common agricultural policy of the European Union - principles and main characteristics;
- The opportunities of the organic agriculture and farming.
- Ecology in agriculture and protection of soils and waters;
- Useful examples and best practices in the EU member states as different ways applied for reconciling of farming and nature conservation and land management (LIFE and LEADER projects).
The guests and participants of the conference had the opportunity to enjoy the performances during the traditional folklore festival "Willow whistle" held at the same in Boliarovo.

4.2. Match-making bilateral meetings "Company and institutional partnership for development of organic and ecological in the cross-border region of Strandja-Yildiz Mountain"
Bilateral meetings between Turkish and Bulgarian stakeholders from the cross-border region - companies, institutions and NGOs, were organised in Boliarovo aiming at developing and fostering of co-operation and collaboration in the sector in parallel to the conference - 6-7 June 2008.
About 80 participants from both countries - representatives of institutions, agricultural producers, traders, processing industry, agricultural machinery, attended the meetings.

4.3.Visits face to face of Bulgarian delegation to companies and institutions oriented towards and working for organic agriculture in Kirklareli- Turkey

In the framework of the project was organised a business visit and sharing of experience in Turkey - Edirne, Kirklareli and Babaeski on 17 - 18 October 2008.
The Bulgarian delegation included agricultural producers, traders and experts and representatives of agricultural institutions from Strandja region. The aim of this visit is to exchange opinions, experience, views and to see how the institutions in Turkey work.

4.4. Theoretical and practical training on organic and ecological agriculture production for entrepreneurs, farmers and representatives of institutions
Theoretical and practical training on organic and ecological agriculture for entrepreneurs, farmers and representatives of institutions has been organised on 27 - 30 October 2008 in Yambol.
The theoretical part of the training was focused on following themes:
- main principles and characteristics of the organic (biological) agribusiness;
- legal requirements and rules for biological production of plants, plant products and foods of plant origin;
- legal requirements and rules for biological production of animal, animal products and foods of animal origin;
- rules for import of biological products;
- control and monitoring of biological agri-production;
- labeling.
The practical part of the training was focused on following themes:
- Providing of suitable products demanded for biological agri-production - fertilizers, products for improvement of fertility - according to the requirements of the organic farming.
- Meeting, discussion and exchange of experience with producers of biological products from other regions of the country.
Participants: 30 persons from the target group.

V. INSTRUMENTS AND TOOLS FOR CONSULTING AND INFORMING

5.1. Bureau for informing and consulting in biological agribusiness and ecology (Bio-bureau)
The Bio-bureau will have two desks - in Boliarovo and in Yambol
In support of the agricultural producers from the region as established permanent working unit (Bio-bureau) with aim to accumulate, process and distribute information related to the biological agribusiness and biological agricultural production in Strandja-Yildiz region, to inform and consult companies and citizens with regard to development of the agribusiness and preservation and conservation of the unique natural resources in the cross-border region.
The Bio-bureau has two desks:
- Bio-bureau - Desk Boliarovo - placed in Boliarovo in suitable premise at the centre of the town, provided by the project partner Municipality of Boliarovo - easy accessible and comfortable for visiting by the people from region. For the complete functioning of the Bio-bureau - Desk Boliarovo in the framework of the project the Boliarovo desk was equipped with:
- computer system;
- printer;
- copy machine
- A hall for meetings, discussions and training to be organised will be equipped at the Bio-bureau - Boliarovo (chars and tables)

- Bio-bureau - Desk Yambol placed at the leading organisation Yambol CCI, in its central office which is situated at the ideal center of the town of Yambol. Bio-bureau - Desk Yambol is easy accessible and comfortable for visiting by the people from region because it is situated close to all other public institutions. For the complete functioning of the Bio-bureau - Desk Yambol was provided also computer system with modem, printer, scanner; copying and presentation equipment.

5.2. Informational publication (brochure) "Organic farming: Facts and figures. Best European Practices"
An informational brochure was published including information in support of agricultural producers:
- Legal texts from the Bulgarian legislation related to organic agriculture;
- Facts and figures about the organic agriculture;
- Best practices in the field of organic agriculture and rural development in the EU.
This brochure was distributed among all stakeholders - farmers, organisations, institutions and experts related to and / or working in the field of agriculture and rural development.
Format: A5, 40 pages.
Total print: 300 copies.

5.3. Multi-lingual virtual Internet platform for distance business consulting and informing in the field of biological and ecological agro-production, including:
