 The
project "E-FARMER - THE NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN SUPPORT OF AGRICULTURE
IN CROSS-BORDER REGION" is focused on building of adequate capacity
for use of informational technologies opportunities and development of
effective instruments for exchange of information between the agricultural
producers from the cross-border regions of Yambol and Edirne. The project
implementation could be considered as first step towards "weaving"
into the regional and local reality of the best practices applied in leading
European countries for development of agriculture and for use of informational
technologies.
Through the planned project activities exchange of experience will be
realized between the cross-border regions of Bulgaria and Turkey for the
different ways of use of informational technologies in support of agricultural
producers as well as transfer of know-how, knowledge and good practices
between the two countries. The project aims at improvement of the knowledge
and skills of farmers for practical use of the new technologies in their
daily operative work, in business planning and for partner search.
The project is directed towards agricultural producers, farmers and entrepreneurs,
working in agriculture from the cross-border region Bulgaria - Turkey,
organisations, institutions and experts related to development of the
cross-border region and to this particular sector.
Following activities are planned for achieving of these objectives and
tasks grouped in three directions:
- Informational campaign for aims and opportunities of the project:
Press-conferences, informational messages, multu-media product for presentation
of project's issues, information for the region and good practices.
- Activities for raising awareness of agricultural producers and for training
on information technologies: Cross-border conference; Trainings on
use of information technologies for farmers from Bulgaria and from Turkey;
Trainings on work with different Internet sites in the field of agriculture
for farmers from Bulgaria and from Turkey;
Business visit of Bulgarian farmers to the Exchanges of Commerce of Edirne
and of Kirklareli - Turkey.
- Instruments and tools for use of information technologies in agriculture
in cross-border region: Internet portal for exchange of commercial
and market information; Brochure "Information technologies and e-services
in support of agribusiness"; Consultancy centre for conventional
and e-services for agriculture and rural areas.
The implementation of the proposed action will contribute for strengthening
of co-operation between the business communities from both sides of the
border in the field of economic development.
Added value will be provided in the particular sector and in the region
as a whole through the planned instruments and tools for exchange of information
between agricultural producers from the cross-border regions and through
human resources development.
