YAMBOL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY

LAUNCHES AN EUROPEAN PROJECT UNDER THE JOINT OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME “ BLACK SEA BASIN 2007-2013”

In the beginning of the first week of 2012, the approved European project of Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry started under the Joint Operational Programme "Black Sea Basin 2007-2013". The name of the project is "Black Sea - Solidarity and Economic Activity." Yambol Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the leading organization in the project. Two other partner organizations are involved in the project: Chamber of Commerce and Industry -Kavala, Greece and the Municipal Council of the Sakrebulo - Council of Chokhatauri Municipality, Georgia. The project aims to promote economic and social development in the Black Sea region through cooperation in border and rural areas of countries participating in the project, based on available local resources of individuals, enterprises and territory through Europeanization of the business in rural traditional production and promotion of SMEs and entrepreneurs to access new markets and trade relations. In this European program from Bulgaria are eligible state institutions, municipalities and NGOs only from South and North Bulgaria's planning regions directly bordering the Black Sea. This project was only approved by the Southeast planning region of Bulgaria, among a total of 13 projects approved in the first call of the program among project proposals submitted by seven countries bordering the Black Sea.

The project is based on the study and formulation of economic situation and market needs in the border regions of the three partner countries. The activities to be implemented in the project will beneficial to create a favourable business environment and to access to new markets in the region and throughout the European Union. It is envisaged that research needs of business people for information and training to implement European standards, norms and rules for production and trade; partnership and cooperation; exchange of market information and best practices between SMEs, entrepreneurs and representatives of state and municipal institutions. Project activities are very interesting and varied, and they include joint information and training seminars, conferences, specialized training, visits to leading national exhibitions, exchange of experience with innovative businesses and industries, sightseeing and traditional festivals in three countries. The project duration is 15 months and the budget of around € 150,000. In March 2012 this year will be held the first conference to the media on which to present detailed content of the project, its objectives and activities to the public in the region and Bulgaria by the project team.
